This course provides an overview of the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) pertaining to business associates. You will learn about:

This course focuses on basic testing strategies for the implementation of the HIPAA Standards for Electronic Transactions and Code Sets (TCS). During this course, you should be provided:
 
  • A review of the basic precepts/reasons for transaction testing
  • An overview of the elements needed for an overall testing strategy
  • An awareness of the trading partners involved in testing
  • Knowledge of the responsibilities of the trading partners
  • An understanding of building an iterative test process

Prior to completing this course, the student should have a basic understanding of the final HIPAA TCS regulations and a basic knowledge of ANSIX12N EDI transaction.
